Background:
The February 2017 National Health Statistics Report estimated 48.3 million surgical and non-surgical procedures in 2010. The patients who need surgery are cared for by nurses, physicians, and physician assistants in the surgical and anesthesia professions. Care is provide in hospital and ambulatory care centers. Innovations in surgical treatment have allowed for improved surgical outcomes, improved pain management, and decrease amount of opioids. This webinar will showcase these evidence based medical care pathways.
The Public Health, Education and Treatment team hopes to utilize this webinar as an opportunity to communicate the Administration’s support for safe prescribing practices and the role of the entire health care community in leading the path in both prevention as well as treatment for those who need surgical care.
